either a state or private agency. We provide bridging, referrals and resources to over 150 families per year through our contract with the Adopt US Kids program.

Infant Adoption Awareness Training Project La Familia is in our seventh year of funding to provide trainings to healthcare providers, therapists and social service workers throughout the state about presenting adoption as an option to their patients and clients. We hold a minimum of 25 trainings per year and are required to train at least 250 individual participants.

NM FIESTA PROJECT In November 2008, La Familia was awarded a contract with CYFD to provide support services to adoptive families throughout the State of New Mexico. Through this grant, La Familia hired 10 experienced adoptive parents to be local contacts for families in each of the 5 regions of the state. We are responsible for providing monthly support groups, quarterly trainings and quarterly family activities in each region. The project also includes a lending library, warmline phone support, an informational blog and a discussion group on facebook.
